Quilting Technique Sampler

This 9-Block Sampler Quilt is made using both machine and hand techniques. In order to achieve this goal, HOMEWORK is a necessary part of the class. It is also important to know your machine and have it in good working order to enjoy making your blocks. (Class machines are available for use, so students do not need to transport machines back and forth). You should know how to wind a bobbin, adjust stitch length, back stitch, and zig-zag. Class price covers instructor fee only. Class requires fabric purchase (estimated cost $85). Fabric will be selected on the first night of class. Level - advanced beginner

| Instructor Bio: | Linette Benedict's quilting journey began in 1990 when her sister Linda suggested they take a class together at a local quilt store. Being newly married, she didn't have s sewing machine. so her first quilt was hand-pieced. Linette soon purchased her first Bernina, a model 1090. She know owns three (along with her original as a backup machine. In 1996 Linette opened a quilt shop, Ruth's Legacy, in Pendleton, IN. She was part owner of this family business for 15 years. Teaching others to quilt has brought Linette great joy and continues to be her passion. She has taught many different classes over the years including children's. beginning quilting. men's classed, advanced techniques, applique and man others - too numerous to list! Linette taught in Norway for three weeks - a fun career highlight! On that trip, she taught handwork techniques, and a pattern called SkrapySak! Linette continues to grow in her craft by craft creating quilt patterns, trying new techniques, and hosting small and large quilting retreats to spread the joy of quilting. |
