Instructor: Kristine Palmer
Instructor Bio: 2022 BERNINA EVENT TEAM Kristine Palmer Payson, Utah kpalmer.bernina@gmail.com Ever since her mother taught her to sew at the age of 8 years old, Kristine has loved to sew. She loved to play with her mother's fabric scraps to make Barbie clothes. By teaching Kristine to sew, her mom ignited within her a love for fabric, sewing, and quilting. Her mother's rule was to complete one project before starting the next. Well, as you can probably guess, that rule has not been followed for years. Playing school and sewing were the two things that Kristine has loved to do throughout her life. She is very happy that the two have come together in her job as an Independent Contractor working with BERNINA. Her High School teacher Mrs. Pixton recognized her passion and taught her a wide variety of sewing techniques and processes, as well as how to teach with patience and kindness. Kristine learned to sew on a BERNINA 730 Record; her first personal sewing machine was a BERNINA 930. She enjoyed creating on the 930 for years before she added many more BERNINA machines to her sewing studio. Kristine's favorite part of teaching and bringing a BERNINA machine into a sewist's life is to see the joy that they get from creating with their own hands. Kristine says that when others create, it inspires her as well. Beginning in 1989, Kristine started working and teaching in fabric and quilting shops. Her husband and family have been very supportive over the years as they have watched her sewing studio take over much of the basement. They have supported her even more as she has gone out to teach quilting, machine embroidery, overlocker skills. As part of the BERNINA Event Team, she is loving the opportunity to share her passion for sewing with others. Her personal motto is: "If You Believe in Yourself then Anything is Possible!"
